Eh...

Sat Feb 7, 2009, 11:25 AM
Yeah...I don't know, feeling kind of bummed out recently. No good reason, yet every good reason, but it's too difficult to explain; therefore I feel cut off. I submitted some new poetry recently, but it doesn't help when people tell me "oh...this stuff is so depressing" and only reinforce that feeling that I, myself, recognize. But feel free to comment on my work as you like, I'm sure I'll be glad to read it.

Did Ya Miss Me?

Fri Oct 24, 2008, 2:58 PM
Yea, so I haven't updated in at least 8 months. I seem to be having more energy/motivation to continue writing and I'm growing a stylish beard. Oh and in the Latin club at school we're building a torsion catapult, or such a siege weapon. I also got accepted into the National Honors Society, not that I seriously thought they'd say no to anyone who filled out the sheet, but Yay anyway. I've also focused more a philosophy and religion, cheifly Stoicism. It was founded by Zeno of Citium (a dead Greek guy) and was the most influential school of philosophical thought in the Roman Empire, yay Romans. Anyway, the idea basically is that you show/feel little emotion so you can live happily. The rationale is that the Universe has a free, rational will of its own, and being swayed too strongly by emotion is like asking a rational thing to do something irrational. Though the Universe has a will of its own, humans can choose to follow that will or not, not doing so bringing unhappiness. It's also interesting because they believed that all matter in the Universe can be categorized under two values; passive and active matter. Passive matter is everything you can touch, the computer for instance. Active matter is stuff like thoughts, emotions, and even Fate. For example, if you smashed your computer because of reading this, your thoughts acted on the computer. Even more trippy, Stoic thinkers believed that the world was born from fire and will end in fire. But when the world is reborn, everything will happen exactly as it had before. You will read this page again, you have already read this page a thousand times. That draws the existences of past and future into question. Because if "past" is the state before the present, before the existence of now, and "future" is the state after the present, then for them to exist would be to contradict themselves. The past does not exist, it did exist; the future does not exist, it will exist. So if you ask "Where did he go?" the real reply is "He existed before, but I'm not so sure about now." That thinking also disproves time travel, because if the aforementioned concepts were false, then past present and future would all be superimposed on our plain of existence; which would be confusing...so our plain of existence is always changing, hence continuum, not back-and-forthuum. Trippy...

Revisions

Sun Jan 27, 2008, 11:35 AM
Ok so the reason I haven't put in anything for a while (several months) is because I hit the mother of all writer's blocks, to put it nicely...
So I've revised the first Account of the Elves story and renamed it as On Guardians. These are now much more in depth and I encourage you to reread them. The Foreword will be gone forever because it no longer coincides with the story. Also, Fraewynn has been renamed as Bryus.
And, the reason this stuff didn't come in yesterday is because my swimming coach decided to have a team practice ON SATURDAY starting from SIX A.M. until EIGHT A.M.!!! Though Saturday practices have been happening every week for three months now, its kind of sadistic that they be at SIX A.M.
Oh, and Mid year exams are over (Yes!) and I hope I did well on them. So All in all, I'm fine, and most importantly, not dead.

Stuff

Mon Sep 10, 2007, 2:43 PM
Ok, I finally submitted my second piece in my series due to the help of :iconblurrz94: who shamed me into getting around to it.

And I was tagged by :iconjakaru666: to do this quiz thingy.
Ok so the rules here are to tell 8 random facts about yourself and the intent is for them to be interesting. Then you tag 8 deviants and then send them a message that they have been tagged.
Here it goes:
1. Fanart is my mortal enemy (I'm not saying why because then some bimbo will send me a hateful message saying how stupid I am; though it'll probably happen anyway.)
2. My initials are RPG which also stands for rocket propelled grenade.
3. I can list the letters of the Greek alphabet (alpha, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon, zeta, eta, theta, iota, kappa, lambda, mu, nu, xi (pronounced "zie"), omicron, pi, rho, sigma, tau, upsilon, phi (pronounced fie), Chi (pronounced kie), psi, and omega; yes there are only 24)
4. My cat chews the hair off of my legs
5. I've died many times in my dreams and haven't woken up immediately (causing me to believe that the fact about dying for real in your dreams is not true)
6. I fell asleep in school and there was a small puddle of drool on my desk.
7. I think my freshman english teacher is a necromancer.
8. In 8th grade, a kid in my class got suspended for having a kind of hit list with the names of other kids on them (I don't know if my name was on said list, but that kid was cwazy, so I wouldn't be surprised)
*phew* Now for the tagging
